The old west pier in Brighton has been falling to pieces slowly for years now. It is still an imposing structure despite the weather, waves and many attempts to burn it down. Only recently the campaign to rebuild it was abandoned, allowing it to decay and crumble into the sea. It remains a much loved icon of the town.
