This photograph was taken at the Altamont Pass, just east of Oakland in California. It is home to one of the earliest wind energy farms in the United States. This farm has close to 5000 wind turbines making it one of the world's largest wind energy farm as well. The farm has a a capacity of 576 megawatts, producing about 125 MW on average and 1.1 terawatt-hours yearly. Interestingly enough, the farm was built in the 1970s. If we could build clean green energy farms back then, why can't we continue it in the future?
