Tibicen tibicen
One night in August, I opened my deck door to a cat-like scream. When I looked to the ground, I found this swamp cicada (Tibicen tibicen). It buzzed around several times while being photographed - it was quite frightening.
I used an extended 35mm lens for magnification.
