I was camping here, at the Bisti Badlands in New Mexico : http://www.americansouthwest.net/new_mexico/bisti_badlands/ . I was walking around and saw this little black thing sticking up from out of the ground. It was hard to judge the distance and it turned out to be much larger than I originally thought. If you are ever in the area, check it out.
