Since you asked...
I think your eyes are much too important in this image to be closed. Also your light on camera left should of been moved closer to the camera to lighten your face. It should be the main point of interest, but it's too dark. My eyes keep falling to the lower back.
Julia, I hope you don't take that the wrong way. You're one of the "stars" on here that I enjoy following. You have some truely great and inspiring work.
JPG is not much of a place to get real critiques on your photos. People seem to leave nice comments or none at all. I only did so because you asked.

I appreciate the constructive criticism, Charles. Thank you for such honesty.
The most eye contact I gave to the camera was little to non at all. In my opinion it looked awkward with only one eye peaking out from under my hair. I don't own any studio lights, I work with very little equipment so this is all natural lighting from a window to my left.
Charles, I do appreciate your comment and I am glad I asked. I will be looking to hear from you in the future, thank you for being such a great follower.

To me this shot represents a nice fresh take on a familiar subject, and I really like the hidden eyes, the pose, the tones, and the lighting.
The only thing that bothers me a little is the framing. I might look into making it more of a square crop, taking away from the left hand side only. But I'm not sure, I would need to play with it.
