Is walking the mode of transport for the future? While walking to the bridge near the Masjid Jamek in Kuala Lumpur, I was struck by the number of modern signposts pointing the same way, alongside the modern architecture. It reminded me that the bland signs, like the architecture, lack individual direction, instead going along the same lines. Likewise, the monochrome treatment reflects the "colourless" nature of these buildings, unlike the Masjid Jamek of old Kuala Lumpur if you but swivel 180 degrees and look. Will we be walking around the bland to save the state of the planet in the future?
