This was a real-life moment and yet the absurdity of this image makes me laugh everytime I look at it. The final photo is so whimsical - it reminds me very much of Breakfast at Tiffanys...only this time it's dinner!
It was a ridiculously hot evening and I had just jumped out of a cool shower and threw on the lightest thing I could find. It just so happened to be a black cotton dress. I began dinner throwing in garlic and onions to simmer in some olive oil. That's when my eyes turned bright red and tears began to stream down my face.
The irritants from the onions hung in the humid air and wouldn't subside. So I grabbed a pair of sunglasses to protect my eyes while I finished cooking.
It is kind of funny, don't you think?
