In the critical discussion of photography, an important part of the image is it’s “gaze.” I’m referring to the way in which the photograph “looks at the viewer.” There is such power in the mother’s gaze at her daughter but an overwhelming power in the way that the child is looking at us. You’re positioning of the camera angle, creating those “catch lights” in the little girl’s eyes, makes this image for me! Very well done! The little girl's thumb is "out of this world!"
