Potala Palace, Lhasa Tibet

The Potala Palace was the world's tallest building before the advent of modern skyscrapers. Towering above the city of Lhasa, the palace is 384 feet high, and 1000 rooms. The Potala Palace was the winter residence of the Dalai Lama until 1951.
