His name is Toby Orion and he is our miracle baby. For several months I felt his movements and kicks inside my body and couldn't wait to finally meet him on his birthday! The day I was due came and went and luckily I was scheduled to be induced the day after I was due.
An hour after I was checked into the hospital, nurses and doctors were swarming everywhere and there was talk I'd have to have a c-section. I was having regular contractions every 2-5 minutes (but I couldn't feel them) and Toby's little heart wasn't dealing with the stress very well. His heartrate dropped with every contraction. A few minutes later we were in the operating room and once they delivered him they saw the reason why. He was born breech, the cord was wrapped around his neck twice and there was a 'true' knot in the cord.
The entire time we were in the hospital the nurses called him our miracle baby but we never understood why. We finally asked on the day we were released from the hospital and the nurses told us we were very lucky he survived. We love him soo much, he is our angel and without even knowing it, he has saved both of our lives.
