it's an infrared conversion of a color image...there is an error in the design of the software though, it coverts reds to black which in "old school" film infrared using a red filter = reds get canceled out to white...so it's not a true infrared ... but creepy indeed....I guess the engineers didn't get it right, but I like this conversion process and use it in most of my creepy pics.....

additionally...in traditional IR = blue would go black, but in this software conversion blue goes gray...

picnik.com is the free software conversion post processing I use (thank you john litton for turning me on...to picnik.com)....some times I bump up the color saturation before converting to get the most dramatic impact.
