Julia was 8 months old when she started swimming, my wife and I put her in classes at WYCA because she showed no fear in any activity, including around swimming pools when she was a baby.
She started swimming competitively when she 6 years old, everything at that age takes time and patience, but as time went on she found that success. Julia lives for competition, at 12 years old she is not afraid to take on not only girls older than her, but also boys her age and older as old as 16 years of age. She has come close to breaking records, but this past Saturday she broke the team record on Saturday 6.27.09 1:16:44 for the I.M. (Individual Medley).
I am a proud dad not only because of her accomplishments, but her ablity to learn from others. It doesn’t hurt also that she makes a great subject to photograph.
