The sky over New York City was incredible on this eve. There was a brief but strong thunderstorm, and when the storm passed, we were luck enough to get this incredible show. These are mammatus clouds, a phenomenon that only occurs after particularly strong storms. As I was taking my photos, hanging out the window of my 21st floor window, I caught a plane out of the corner of my eye and managed to snap a shot off before it flew right out of frame. I love this photo. When it's viewed large...what an impact. I love the subtlety of it. This color and texture only lasted for a few minutes. Timing is everything.
