All that's left is a picture and memories
This is a scan of a picture taken back in 1977. It's of my best friend, Yves. We both kept each other somewhat sane and safe during our boarding school years. Yeah our dad's were not there at the time. It wasn't a good excuse but hey we used it anyway. Honestly we were not that bad other than some drinking (which was legal) and roaming the streets of Brussels. We were so carefree.
Anyway after high school I returned to the US. and Yves got into drugs in a real heavy way. This picture is of the last time I visited him at his mom's place. We were talking and listening to Led Zepplin. He had just rolled a cigarette with three papers and laced it with hash. So I grabbed the Canon AE-1 and took this picture . Shortly after that he disappeared and I have lost contact with him.
Hopefully he's OK and who knows maybe we will meet up again someday.
Yves tu es manque beaucoup mon copain.

This is quite brilliant, the trippyness of this image an with your friend smoking the really identifiable weed goes so well.. Its really cool and really well done.

It's a great shot. I hope that he is thriving somewhere and not really missing. So sad.

Great shot Bob - knowing the story just adds strength to the power that the colours and composition provide to the picture. Thanks for sharing.

Nice shot and a sad story. I work with addicts and have ssen what happens after years of heavy use. Pot's no big deal but crystal/crack/opiates/alcohol destroy the body mind and soul.
