Being 20 years old, I’m part of the generation that’s old enough to have used film in the past, but most likely never on an advanced level. This is why I decided to go almost completely analogue for the summer. To learn new tricks and become more focused as I am taking pictures. ( http://fleistad.com/?p=297 )
I bought this thing from a guy in the southern region of Norway back in May.
After getting it I replaced the original strap with this “hippie” strap from the 70’s, which I took of an old Minolta SLR, mainly because the original strap was bloody uncomfortable, to put it mildly.
So far I have ran 7 rolls of film through it. It’s a joy to shoot with and I truly can’t wait until I can get the rolls processed. (Going to get them all processed once I reach 10 rolls)
Although it may not look mint, it operates flawlessly, as far as I can tell. No fungus or broken seals, clean and scratch free lenses and a working light meter, which can be really convenient at times.
There’s something special about composing your image on a big matte screen, and the 6x6 square format really opens up for a lot of new and exciting alternatives when it comes to compositions.
If you’re looking to get into analogue medium format photography, it’s worth taking a look at one of these!
