Pacific Palisades, California

I realized tonight why it is that it feels so right to me, when I could go just about anywhere, why I choose to drive up PCH everynight . . . and see the same homes, same beaches, same stores and restaurants.
The beach is signifficant to me, even though I'm not too keen on surfing or cold water in general. It represents the end. If I turned right and drove Sunset . . . or Topanga Canyon . . . Laurel, or Mullhulland . . . I know whats in front of me, just more and more of the same. More America. But the ocean . . . . there is soo much more out there, the ocean is the end of this country, it's the bridge between me and the whole world. So everynight I drive up and down the coast like a dog with a shock proximity collar . . . I just pace back and fourth, staring off into a giant body of water that leaves everything up to my imagination.

Yeah, Rob, I got this feeling, except in reverse, every time we pulled back in from maneuvers out at sea....
Never got the chance to ride all the way up the PCH, but I get this image...
well done! -
