Dolls Alive!
Walking along a busy street in Guadalajara, Mexico I started up a conversation with a young Wiccan, or at least he is a type of Wiccan.
I spent about half an hour with him, stumbling along in my intermediate Spanish.
These dolls are treated as a type of extension of identity of the owners. Cared for and even offered daily food, they are believed to come alive at night. This young man insisted that his doll came alive each night and walked about his home, he said he heard his little feet every night. I saw lots of young people walking around Guadalajara that are part of this sect.
