Fresh Rain

The Cross at Mount Sequoyah has been photographed literally thousands of times. In our area, it seems a rite of passage for new photographers to test their fledgling skills out with a trek up to the cross to create their own view of it in their camera. As many photos as have been taken of it by others, and as many as I have taken of it myself, it still serves as in inspiration to me each time I visit it. It has become a personal challenge for me to find different ways to interpret this long-standing icon. I was delighted, then, to discover this view of the cross, through the warm spring raindrops that gathered on my windshield as I paused there one afternoon to reflect. The freshly fallen rain allowed me to have a fresh perspective of my old friend, the cross. And that's something we can all appreciate, and hopefully that we can all enjoy.
