Engrained
I created the filter for this photograph by brushing a square of clear plastic with a shimmering nail varnish. Then I shot my NeoCube through it. The resulting photo has some of the grainy blur of an old sepia photograph, and I feel the overall effect is quite surreal.

This is very similar to the filters that I put nail polish on the outside rim, for some wedding photographs. This was a bit like the expensive Hasselblad or Hoya #1 or #2 filtre that really looked like the filtre surface had been gently tapped with a ball-pein hammer - cost an arm & a leg. I did the nail polish trick on some 'neutral density Hoya' filters that fitted into my flip-top filter box, which could be quick changed in just seconds during a photo sessions.
That was when I used a Bronica 645 ETRs some 12 plus years ago working in S.Aust. Had done experements with the effects & had three or 4 of those filters that I were happy with, each giving a slightly different effect. But no longer in the wedding game, worse luck, & the gear has been sold long ago... -
