Rest in Peace Dad
My father, the irishman (see earlier photos), on his 74th birthday in November 2008, just one day after a diagnosis of stage IV lung cancer. He passed away in April 2009.
I love you and miss you dad. This is the photo I will use to remember you as you were before the sickness took hold.

Wonderful photograph. Sorry about your father. I think it is important that you added the information to go with the photograph. It gives the photograph more power, and makes the birthday cake and the candles more of a loaded symbol.
If there were one less candle, it would be a little creepy... the number of candles on the cake would also be the same number of months between his birthday and his death. -
