Nesting Duck
In the middle of an elevated (about 5 feet) garden bed at Baltimore Inner Harbour, this duck is incubating her eggs.
I hope when the time comes the ducklings exit the nest on the water side, not the path side of the garden bed.

I've been dreaming of this duck and seeing them all weekend. Great shot! I wonderhow many eggs. Yesterday, I saw Mom with 12 ducklings!

Thank you Alice and Sherry, I appreciate your comments.
The duck didn't seem to mind me being that close, but did keep a close eye on my movements. -

Trish-Looks to me like Mama knows you mean no harm but just in case, she has her eye on you. She looks like a sweet Good Mama Duck.

Thanks Gloria. I made no sudden movements and talked quietly to her as I took several photos.

Gloria, who knows whether animals understand what we say, but for sure some definitely understand tone of voice, so as you say, who knows???
Christopher, thank you. -

Great head-on eye level portrait. She does not look all that concerned with your presence. The older I get the more harmless I feel. :)Lovely image.

Joy and Charles, thank you.
She rose and turned to face me then resettled on her eggs as I photographed and talked quietly to her. I love and agree with your comment Charles ... the older I get the more harmless I feel :)
