My pig is clean
I ran into a wonderful contrast and wanted to know more about what family life was like. There is an obvious height difference. It was clear to me they are in love and above all a family. One of the favorite pastimes after a hard day is to be bathed after being all grungy and making sure one's pig is clean so to speak. I feel fortunate for the trust level and openness I received. I tried to be a friend and above all allow my camera to lead the way in showing the nucleus of their family.

When I talk to my students about getting in close with their subjects I hope that showing them this picture will give them something to aspire to. I know do. I hope JPG will find someplace for this picture in a future issue!

I think half the journey in discovering ones self photographically is in the mannerism of how we interact with those we know nothing about. It is there, in that moment like this, that we come to understand more about ourself in how we look not only at others, but how we look at ourselves.
I'll not shower you with accolades and will instead leave that for others more inlined to do so. I will however watch you walk from here to the next epiphany and hope to see a little of you in the process.
