Are you raising those birds? I thought touching baby birds was like touching a baby deer, the mother would be thrown off by your scent and reject the baby... ?
They ARE incredibly cute though, with that fluffy stuff and mooshy looking beaks. -

This is actually a myth. Birds have a very poorly developed sense of smell so the mother will not notice human scent. Visually disrupting the nest is likely to have a far greater impact. However, these birds were being handled by a well trained zoologist, not just for the sake of a photo, and I can guarantee you the mother did not abandon the nest. -
