I think that it does not need any more bright. I think that it is a soft image with a few delicate colors and this is what he needs. Give more bright would break the delicacy of the image and even his balance.
For me it is a perfect image. -

I like the color and texture as it is but if you want to increase the contrast it might be more dramatic??
