this image was taken at the eastern market on capitol hill, washington, dc
these are mostly long time vendors from the market at the end of a long weekend, sharing their abundances with each other.
while vendors may squabble on a daily basis over territory... they are defined by their deep sense of camaraderie
I feel very lucky to be a part of this group and I appreciate very much that they have allowed me into their world and let me photograph them (I think they believe the camera is just part of my arm now).
the eastern market is having a big grand reopening (june 26-28) after a devastating fire displaced vendors three years ago.
the market is one of the oldest running open markets in the region
