Foiano della Chiana's 1480 Wall
In 1383 the inhabitants of Foiana built a fortified wall around their town. In 1387 the town became a free commune and the first communal statute was drafted. Following the siege of the Aragonese, Foiano once again was under Florentine rule and this heart shaped wall was built in 1480.
