All that remains of an old pier built in the mid to late 1800s, are these cement structures, surviving the battle against the sea...for now. Cormorants and pelicans make safe haven out of the structures further out to sea.

This was my first time down to the beach, as there are only two options, one of which is tide dependent. The trail is steep, but doable. I was lucky to have picked a time of year where my vision of a shot was possible, and that is with the sun setting between the first structure.

top class shot, all too often people show long exposures for the thrill of the thing having worked technically this is a proper shot.

This is a great image, I love the textures of the sand and the soft, cottonesque foam. If I'm not mistaken, it looks pretty windy out there.
