As the world goes by (a self portrait)

I like riding much more than driving. If I'm not looking out the window, I'm usually asleep, with the purpose of dreaming or imagining.
I have certain characters that I created years ago, and whenever an interesting place is passed, I think of how I might incorporate it into the story somehow. What could happen there? What are the circumstances that they come upon this place . . . be it a wooded area, shopping center or posh suburbia.
My mind is racing.
