it's the pause during the auto focus tracking session...I hate it...but am enslaved.

sometimes the pause can be a pain, but I would not want to go back to the days of only manual

I think with my camera when using the timer I have to use manual focus ... unless I get a remote release or something...otherwise when I press the button it pre focuses on my boobs and when I dash back to my seat to strike a pose, I'm backgrounded....I need to decode the manual and figure out turn everything off.

in this shot, no timer, just holding camera with annoying pop up flash firing and so by the time the auto focus fixed....I'd crooked my face to the far side...oh bother.
