Pequeña bulbosa de floración primaveral de la familia de las Liliáceas, conocidad también como Triveltia uniflora, Brodiaea uniflora o Milla uniflora.
Tiene unos 20 cm de altura, con hojas filiformes de color cebolla y tallos que terminar en flores estrelladas de unos 3 cm de longitud, muy aromáticas, solitarias y de color violáceo aunque existen otras variedades en blanco. Cada pétalo tiene tiene la base pálida y el nercio central oscuro. En otoño brotan unas hojas acintadas de un verde claro azulado.

Cuidados
- Riego:
Abundante sin encharcar. La tierra debe estar húmeda.
- Temperatura:
Es muy resistente aunque acusa los fríos. Necesario acolchar en invierno en zonas de interior de clima continental. En climas cálidos no necesita cuidados especiales.
- Abono:
Se le debe procurar un terreno medianamente fértil. No es necesario abonar.
Cultivo
- Suelo:
Necesita un suelo ligeramente fértil, rico en humus, húmedos pero bien drenados.
- Multiplicación:
Los bulbos se multiplican por sí solos muy rápidamente. Cada 2 o 3 años conviene desenterrarlos hacia la mitad del verano y trasplantarlos, teniendo cuidado de que no sufran durante la operación. Si se quiere hacer antes, se hace por división a finales de verano.
- Plantación: Se planta en otoño, cubriendo con hojas (acolchando) la zona para que no sufra en invierno. Se plantan a unos 10 cm de profundidad, distanciándolos unos 15 cm en terrenos soleados o semisombra, y sobre todo con buen drenaje.
