Autumn at the White House
Fall, 2008 view of the White House from the Northwest corner.
This is the angle that you usually see in the background during TV news reports from here.
What's amazing is there's no one in the shot to mess up this view.
I've entered this photo in the "Transformations" theme not just because of the change in nature all around it - I've picked this because of the changes that have come about because of the people who've lived in this place - and the transformations that are going on inside today - the social and political changes...changes that will, no doubt, effect us for a long, long time.
"Things in transition" indeed....

How did you get this angle? Isn't this area restricted?

Ron - I went loony and jumped the fence....then, amid the hail fire of bullets, guard dogs and TV journalists running for their lives, I snapped this photo.
Actually....I did some production work here last fall so I had an escort....but not THAT kind of "escort"....after all, this is DC and well.....never mind.... -
