A white Arab nomad in southern Mauritania. The families live in impermanent tent camps for a few weeks before packing up and searching the desert for a new temporary home. They rely heavily on milk and meat from their goats and sheep. The most important factor in selecting a location for new camps is the amount of vegetation available for feeding the animals.

While outside caring for his sheep, Habib wraps his face to protect against the relentless, blowing sand. He has just joined his family inside the tent.
