What events transformed us more than those during the civil rights movement? Those days certainly paved the way for the election of President Obama - the election of an African American president an event I never expected to live to see. That joyful event helps take away some of the bitter taste of Dr. King's assassination.
Here is the balcony where Dr. King was shot right outside Room 306. The motel never reopened and is now part of the Civil Rights Museum in Memphis Tennessee.
