Mathilda leads a 4-piece band called Mathilda and the Mother Funkys.

As in my other photograph, Eye on Mr Conductor, I was presented with a situation where the performer was blocked by a music stand.

I could move to the side and take pictures of Mathilda unblocked. And I did. But those pictures were not quite as, er, funky as those with her face framed by the stand and its lights.
