Tea at 5AM in my favorite cup. In May of 1972 my family moved to California. I was 9. We visited the year before and I bought this cup at Disneyland.
My grandmother died in January and it took us until May to settle her affairs and decide what we really needed to take to California.
North American Van Lines packed our furniture and stored it in the warehouse until we found a home. I insisted that I take the cup with me to drink water at every stop along the way.
Before we were settled in, we were informed that the warehouse had a fire. Everything from my childhood vanished except summer clothes, which I outgrew and this cup.
