Hand stitching and a wax seal (1)
The postal worker in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan hand stitched a linen wrapper for my box, then sealed it with hot wax and the official seal of the Kyrgyz Postal Service.

They seem to only do it on large packages above a certain size/weight. The process takes forever, as there's generally only one woman working there...
