This makes me think back on a nest of coots I saw 30th of april. Bright sunny day, nest on the edge of the shadow. Impossible to expose right from my viewing angle.

Thanks for the kind words Chris. I've never been much good at exposure, shutterspeed, aperature, etc. I just try to capture what looks good to me. The immediate environment in this area is stunning with 500 foot granitic cliffs surrounding the cabin. I had just gotten my Rebel EOS and was playing with the 70-300 lens when I cought a glimpse of this from the outdoor breakfast table overlooking Rapid Creek. My cousin is being forced the sell the cabin where this picture was taken due to outrageous taxes! So this picture has special meaning for me. -D
