This is the picture of a glimpse of the river Subarnarekha, meaning "the Golden Streak". Legend has it that at the source of the river in Jharkhand gold-grains can be found. The river bed stretches more than two kms, but now in winter it has shrunk to a few meters with maximum depth of three meters. But in rainy season the river is overflowed and vast areas are flooded. At that time it is a sheer horror to see the river flowing and swallowing everything
