  Not enough time to think like that when you're on a roll...just kept shooting on the second roll as I missed much on the first. But it was hard to keep the camera at the eye. You can see that the image is not centered (although the camera was dead centre at the start of the roll...). We were pulling only 2.5g in that roll, but that meant that my 2kg (4.5lbs) D300 with battery pack and Tokina 124 suddenly became a 5kg (11lbs) brick...(by the end of the flight I my wrists were aching...). I wasn't game to try and shoot during the loop which pulls 4 to 4.5 g on the up and down. The last thing I needed that I loose the grip and the pilot gets brained by an 8kg (17lb) heavy camera (in relative terms...). A tad too risky that...

  Dirk, cool shot, and probably one of a sequence. Yup, pulling G's and taking pictures is a handful. (I normally do mounted camera work in situations like this :-) Check out http://harryblack.wordpress.com for what I do.

  Well Dirk, all I can say is..... what a cool shot. Thumbs up and totally well done. Colour, composition and impact are all spot on in my eyes........I think I could even go as far as saying I'm envious ...(you getting the ride as well as the shot) "The world according to Alex" is a place I would love to go.
