Such an exquisite photo, To dwell for a moment on its technical virtuosity, how perfectly the couch the vertical pole rising, the arm of the couch (chair?) forming the perfect horizontal bottom, drawing our eye to the seductive figure, perfectly placed, with ample room above which serves to heighten our attention. And the colors are, of course perfect, and complement one another with such subtlety. The choice to leave the shadow of a bedpost (?) on the left, and the white vertical on the right was inspired.
But the substance, "Die Gestalt", trumps the technical. The tantalizingly vague expression which inures itself against facile interpretation, the quasi noir feeling the overall tonality leaves us with, the sublimely elegant subject matter, all cooperate, conspire to elevate this image to the extraordinary. -
