This is the picture of the remnant of a medieval 'Rasmancho' on the bank of the dead river, Saraswati. A Rasmancho is a permanent stage made for the celebration of the religious festival 'Ras' in West Bengal, India. The festival culturally celebrates the pastoral union of Radha and Krishna (mythological characters), who came away from their houses to celebrate their love. People found this an occasion to pay adoration to Radha-Krishna, who are thought to be the incarnations of goddess, Lakshmi and her husband Narayana.
