Platypus eggs are really hard to incubate -very sensitive to the oils in your fingers, hence the foot-high barrier surrounding the trays so curious toddlers and teenagers on tour can't fondle them. this is taken from the observation platform at the Dupont Rare Species Sustainability Center. Ha Ha, no not really! :)
