Goodbye my little buddy
I'm grateful I took hold of the moment to take pictures a few months ago. Had I not I would not have this memory frozen in time.
This is Ibbey, his name is short for "itty bit". 13 years ago on Christmas day he was under our Christmas tree with a red bow taped to his body. Originally intended to be a gift to our children, Ibbey quickly became my little buddy. He was so small when we got him, hence the name. However, he did not stay "itty bit" for long, at 20 lbs, he was a big cat.
Perched on my shoulder, he went with me where I went. Followed me when not on my shoulder. Found his sleeping spot above my head and woke me sometimes in the morning, with a little bite on the head. When I was sad, he would come running to me and lay with me while I cried. Reaching his paw out and stroke my face, as if to dry my tears. When I was in pain, he would lay with me. Close by my side and purr as if to say "it's going to be alright, I'm here". From the other side of the house, he would hear me call his name and never hesitated to come running to be by me side. If I had to go away, he would lay in my suitcase as if to protest my leaving him. Mr. Personality Plus, that was Ibbey. For 13 years, Ibbey and I were buddies.
Never before have I experienced a cat like Ibbey and doubt I ever will again. He's gone to sleep for the last time. I will sorely miss him.
Goodbye my sweet Ibbey, my little buddy. I will miss you.

I know your pain, my prayers are with you. Our vet once told me that they are with us for such a short time because their work is done that quickly.

I'm sorry for your loss, my cat was with me for 17 years when he passed on. You don't realize what a major part of your life they are and what a void they leave when they are gone.

Oh i'm SO SAD for you!! My Baby was like this - my companion. He even looked like your cat. At 13, it was hard for me to let him go too...

He is not gone. He lives beyond the "Rainbow Bridge" - with so many other of our family pets. RIP Ibbey
