Right in the middle of the Grand Canyon where the road meets the Colorado River, this photo was taken as the July sun was starting to slip lower in the western sky. I liked the time of day for the casting of shadows on one side and the reflections of the cliff in the warm, green waters of the river from the other side of the gorge. Off in the distance, the heights of the rest of the canyon walls rise below the many huge puffy clouds that were forming during this entire trip (rainy season). Fortunately for us (riding a 100th Anniversary Edition Harley Ultraglide) we were able to escape the entire trip with only two quick wettings from the monsoon-like rains in the area.

Nice composition. Great variety of colors. The green in the river makes it for me.
