This picture of 2 Lao girls was taken at a tourist cafe in Phonsovan. They and other street kids would hangout near there in an attempt to get some food.
Their town has the distinction of being one of the most heavily bombed areas in the world. The locals now think it is quite normal to live their daily lives with thousands of tonnes of unexploded ordinance everywhere around them. They are leaning against an unexploded 750 pound bomb being used as decoration to the entrance of the cafe.
