This picture of a Lao girl was taken at a tourist cafe in Phonsovan. She and other street kids would hangout near there in an attempt to get some food.
Her town has the distinction of being one of the most heavily bombed areas in the world. The locals now think it is quite normal to live their daily lives with thousands of tonnes of unexploded ordinance everywhere around them. To her left you can see a 750 pound bomb being used as decoration to the entrance of the cafe.
