This is an experiment picture that I did in practicing for a photo contest in 1997 where we were required to use a mannequin's head...I went beyond the call of duty and attached the head to a dress form, clothed her, gave her a wig and made the mannequin a nature photographer... By the time I got finished with the numerous pictures that I practiced on, the head and the dress form fell on the hilly ground, its jaw got dented in and the tripod tipped over along with it. Not an easy project, but it was fun... Incidentally, this shot was not one of the pictures that I submitted at that time but I sent one in similar to it of the mannequin in a vertical version... Since a mannequin is truly a make- believe fantasy representation of a human it could also fit the fairy tale theme in that sense...(The looking glass is symbolic of our own interpretation of life seen through the camera lens.)

In closely scrutinizing this, I can well imagine the effort that went into this image, Andrea! You did a marvelous job of bringing her to life! The bonnet, RED dress and bandana all go so well together!!! ...and I particularly like the blossomed tree background [cherry??]. Kudos... and my vote!!

Thank you all for your kind words and votes...Yes, it was lots of effort, Rob and I remember working days and many hours on this project with different variations of the experiment.... That was back in the days when I didn't have a digital camera to delete the pictures I didn't want. This sure brings back memories. The tree in the background is an apple tree blossoming

I show this old film camera, Joe in the theme: gadgets galore and here is some of the information: Semi Leotax. Made about 1952 in Japan. 7.5cm f/3.5 lens and a Wester shutter. The Wester shutter has a self-timer and is engraved N.K.K. at the bottom of the speed rim in black letters and has a sync pin. film 120 6x4.5 16 Exp. (www.jpgmag.com)
