She wakes with hands of stone, screaming lullabies
from harps and lips of snow she says, “this is for you”
as onward slips the trolley with the gentleman whose
ears by void are cursed but eyes
can see the angel’s wings depart
to leave the harpist’ hands at ease
that he might hear her screams and be delighted
with the melodies of her heart
