    It's a caterpillar! They're native of TX -- how it ended up in South Carolina, we dunno. Anyways, it traveled into our house via my brother's hoodie, and when he found it on our bathroom counter, he, of course, tried to "pet" it and was stung pretty bad.
    The hair acts more like quills, and is more of a shell, with the caterpillar underneath. Pretty toxic. Interesting little guy, though!
