Ernest
His sign pretty much sums it up. I met Ernest on a street corner in downtown Minneapolis. As a man who has been through a lot of hardships in his life, Ernest has resorted to begging rather than dealing or stealing.

why is the only error with the letter "d" located in the word "drugs" I think this composition is wonderful, he seems as though he is a wonderful subject, and i know that the sign is just another part of the image, but i can't help but wonder if the backwards "d" in Drugs was deliberate?

This is a touching, moving shot. "I'ma" vs. "I'm", "sell drugs" vs. "sale brugs". The spelling/grammer used only adds to the man and the message, IMHO. Words like "steal", "homeless" and "beg" arent' ''child friendly" either, however he utilized.

Love it regardless of how words are spelled. The purpose of photography is to make us think, therefore, it is a successful capture on your part ;-)

Great portrait! I also like the colours! It is a very honest straight forward shot. I like it's simplicity.

Awesome photo for the theme. I too saw the backwards "d" but I figured he might be dyslexic as they sometimes write letters backwards. You did very well with this photo.

Really going to make his spelling and issue? I think you are missing or ignoring the bigger issue, and that is Homelessness of our Vets. It's a powerful photograph and a beautiful man who deserves his message to be heard. WELL DONE! And thank you for bringing his message to us.

This is a great picture. The story behind it is saddening, but it's so intriguing as well.
